Water benefits

Water benefits: Why should we hydrate ourselves more frequently?

While the human body can go for weeks without food, we cannot go even a few days without water. This shouldn't come as much of a surprise given that the average human body is composed of roughly 60% water. Hence, both the body's physical and mental states are impacted when it becomes dehydrated.

In general, healthy individuals should consistently consume 5-6 glasses of water every day. To put it simply, water is essential for the healthy operation of our cells and organs. Drinking more water won't be a problem if you don't have any diseases like thyroid, liver, kidney, or heart problems.

You should drink water because of the following factors:

1. Supports Calorie control

While it's not a magic trick, drinking water instead of high-calorie beverages can significantly help with weight loss. This has been practised for many years.

2. Encourages Healthy Skin

Your skin naturally contains a lot of water. Dehydration makes your skin more susceptible to early wrinkling, which can be prevented by drinking more water.

3. Protects Joints

Around 70% of the water found in cartilage, which is found in joints and the discs of the spine, is stored there. By staying hydrated, you can increase your joints' capacity to absorb shock.

4. Provides Muscle Energy

Also, this aids in avoiding mineral buildup that might result in kidney stones. Lack of fluid causes muscle cells to function badly. Drinking enough water is vital when working out. Drink 17 ounces of liquid two hours before working out.

5. Maintains Kidney Health

By drinking a lot of water, you're encouraging regular kidney function, which also assists in draining toxins from your body. One of the functions of the kidneys is to manage water balance and blood pressure as well as eliminate waste from the body.
